Brain Teaser

Johnny's mother had four children. The first was April, the second was May, and the third was June. What was the name of her fourth child?

(Submit the answer to Miss Barth no later than Wednesday, March 3 and receive a prize!)

Do you smell popcorn?

The class filled up their compliment jar once again! We will be celebrating with a popcorn party next week!

Valentine's Party

Here are a few pictures from the Valentine's Party! (I've never seen so much candy...)

Enjoy!

Congratulations to Jacob M. for winning the HUGE Hershey Kiss!

World War I Persuasive Posters

In our brief study of World War I several weeks ago, the class learned about ways Hoosiers and other Americans helped aid WWI war efforts. We also discussed the propaganda that was used to persuade people to support efforts such as joining the army, buying bonds, saving and growing food for the soldiers, etc.
Each student created their own persuasive poster based on one of the WWI efforts we discussed in class. Many of the students "thought outside the box" and invented some catchy phrases of their own!
Check out the pictures below! :)

ISTEP

Just a reminder that our first session of ISTEP testing will take place next week, starting (Tuesday) March 2nd through (Friday) March 6th. Make sure your child gets plenty of rest this weekend and all throughout the next week!

At school, the kids have been working on the computer program "Study Island". This is a great refresher before the ISTEP because it teaches and assess the skills directly aligned with the IN State Standards. The link for this program can be accessed at home and is listed under the "Online, Educational Games and Resources" section of this page.
